Code of Conduct
Compliance with Laws – Universal Rail and its directors, officers and employees will comply with all applicable laws and regulations in connection with performing their work duties for the Company.
Conflicts of Interest – All directors, officers and employees have a duty to be free from any conflict of interest when they represent the Company in negotiations or make recommendations with respect to dealings with third parties.
Employment Practices – All employees and contractors are to be treated fairly, will treat each other and community members with respect and courtesy, and will strive to keep the workplace free from harassment.The Company does not condone the use of race, religion, colour, sex, sexual orientation or ethnicity as the basis for decisions related to hiring, promotions, pay or terminations. Universal will strive to reasonably accommodate employees with physical disabilities to allow them to perform a job in a safe and effective manner.
Duty to Report – Directors, officers, and employees have a duty to immediately report any activity that they believe contravenes the law or represents a breach of this Code.
Retaliation – Universal Rail does not discriminate or retaliate against any person who, in good faith, makes a report of a suspected violation of a law or of a violation of this Code.
Universal Rail and its personnel adhere to all applicable laws and regulations. Conflicts of interest are avoided and fairness and respect are upheld in employment practices. Any violations or concerns are reported without fear of retaliation.
